Joikos ist eine schöne Suite von sechs Stücken. Der Komponist sagt: «The yoik is the folksong tradition of the Samish and the Lappish people, who are settled in the northern part of Norway, Sweden and Finland : In 'Joikos' I have made use of musical and textual motives of different yoiks, mostly of religious nature as starting point for the following movement for the viola.»
