François Clément Théodore Dubois gewann 1861 den grossen Rompreis, und zehn Jahre lang (1896-1905) leitete er das Pariser Conservatoire. «Among his extensive compositions... only his sacred music is still known within France.» Das Terzettino für Flöte, Viola und Harfe «is very vocal in its design. In its gracious elegance it clearly reveals the composer's attachement to the tastes of his day» (F. Gerber). Mehr als 100 Jahre nach dem Erstdruck ist das Stück wieder ediert worden.
